The Furniture Polisher & Finishing Painter is responsible for preparing, finishing, polishing, and painting furniture surfaces to achieve high-quality finishes as per design specifications. The role involves expert colour matching, surface preparation, and the application of various finishes such as lacquer, polyurethane, veneer stains, and paints to wood, MDF, and metal furniture pieces.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of wood finishing techniques (staining, sealing, lacquering, and painting).
Expertise in colour mixing and matching by eye and using standard references.
Ability to achieve a range of finishes: matt, satin, gloss, antique, distressed, etc.
Knowledge of different materials: solid wood, veneer, MDF, and metal.
Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
Familiarity with safety standards for paint and solvent handling.
Work Conditions:
Workshop or factory environment.
May involve exposure to dust, fumes, and finishing chemicals (with PPE provided).
Requires standing for long periods and manual handling of materials.
