Key Responsibilities

Surface Preparation:

Preparing surfaces by cleaning, washing, and repairing any damages, holes, or cracks before painting or gypsum installation.

Gypsum Installation:

Measuring, cutting, and installing gypsum boards onto walls and ceilings as per project drawings and specifications.

Framing:

Building metal or wooden frames to support the gypsum boards.

Finishing:

Applying joint compounds and tapes to achieve a smooth and seamless finish on gypsum surfaces.

Sanding:

Sanding down surfaces to remove imperfections and prepare them for paint application.

Painting:

Applying high-standard paint, decorative finishes, and various coatings to gypsum and other surfaces to match existing finishes.

Maintenance & Repairs:

Performing repairs and maintenance on existing gypsum structures, including fixing damages and defects.

Safety and Site Coordination:

Following safety protocols, using tools and equipment correctly, and coordinating with other trades like engineers and supervisors to ensure accurate execution.

Area Protection:

Protecting the surrounding area by covering it with plastic or cloth to prevent paint spills and messes.

Clean-Up:

Cleaning the work area, removing tools, and replacing fixtures after the project is complete.

Skills and Qualifications

Experience in painting and decorating, with knowledge of various paints and their application. Proficiency in gypsum board installation, including framing, cutting, and finishing. Strong attention to detail for achieving flawless, high-quality finishes. Ability to read and interpret project drawings and specifications. Knowledge of safety procedures and proper tool usage. Basic education, such as a high school diploma or equivalent, is often required. Experience in the local region, such as the UAE, may be specified.
