to lead our monthly financial reporting and consolidation process
This is a pivotal role reporting directly to the Finance Director, ideal for a proactive individual with a strong background in financial reporting, general ledger management, intercompany reconciliation, ERP systems,problem-solving ability, and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Month-End Financial Close
: Lead timely and accurate closure of books across group entities on a monthly basis.
Financial Statement Preparation
: Independently prepare and submit consolidated
P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements
, with insightful commentary.
Chart of Accounts Management
: Maintain and control the organization's Chart of Accounts to ensure consistent and accurate expense classification across entities
Intercompany Reconciliations
: Reconcile balances between entities and eliminate mismatches in consolidated accounts.
Accruals & Prepayments
: Post accurate month-end adjustments and ensure completeness of expense recognition and deferral.
Expense Allocations:
Allocate group expenses based on cost drivers and activity across entities.
General Ledger Integrity
: Conduct deep-dive analysis into account balances, identify mis postings, and implement robust controls for future prevention.
Legacy Data Clean-Up
: Review, analyze, and correct historical transactions from prior periods (especially the past year), ensuring alignment with accounting standards and correct expense classification.
ERP Integration Support
: Support the migration and implementation of the accounting function into ERP (Odoo), including schema redesign, validations, and automations.
BI Reporting & Automation
: Design and develop management dashboards using
Power BI
and
Excel Query tools
to automate and visualize key reports.
Stakeholder Collaboration
: Engage constructively with UK and UAE teams to obtain data, address resistance, and bridge knowledge gaps regarding business processes and financial flows.
Team Leadership
: Guide and support junior team members, delegate work effectively, and manage priorities under tight deadlines.
Process Standardization
: Implement and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for accounting activities and reporting cycles.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Experience
: 3-4+ years in financial reporting, month-end close, GL reconciliation, and consolidation in a multi-entity/group structure.
Special Focus
: Demonstrated experience in GL control, chart of accounts oversight, and correction of misclassifications.
Accounting Knowledge
: Strong technical understanding of IFRS, intercompany accounting, accruals/prepayments, and allocation methodologies.
ERP & BI Tools
: Hands-on experience with ERP implementations and reporting via Power BI and Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables, etc.).
Analytical & Communication Skills
: Ability to distil complex data into meaningful analysis and communicate findings across finance and non-finance teams.
Soft Skills
: Excellent time management, presentation, and verbal/written communication skills. A self-starter with project leadership capabilities.
Proactive, adaptable, solution-oriented, able to handle ambiguity and resistant stakeholders with maturity and persistence.
Qualifications
: Part-qualified or fully qualified (ACCA / ACA / CIMA / CPA/CA or equivalent) preferred.
