The role entails providing effective challenge to the business and identifying and escalating potential Financial Crime regulatory and risk issues, working with colleagues in the team and across the business to provide practical, pragmatic solutions to help the business move forward.
  • Provide information to identify, monitor and provide oversight on screening activities within BEI & Financial Crime risks.
  • Maintaining excellent knowledge of regulatory requirements and expectations, and be able to keep the business informed of future changes to the regulatory environment.
  • Promoting a positive Financial crime compliance culture across BEI.
  • Responsible for performing and resolving daily sanctions checks for all BEI counterparties and ensuring appropriate escalation of unresolved alerts to the right person as per the relevant sanctions screening manuals and protocols.
  • Manage inbound referrals regarding sanctioned countries and liaise with compliance to resolution.
  • Perform ad-hoc sanctions screening as requested or necessary by the business.
  • Work in partnership with business functions, providing professional and practical guidance in relation to sanctions alert reviewing.
  • Support the first line activity in the identification and mitigation of sanctions and Money-laundering risks.
  • Escalating sanctions alerts to level 2 reviewer (MLRO) in agreed SLA (service level agreements)•Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of the financial crime framework including liaising the administration of the Local High Risk Customer Committee.
  • Translation of negative lists provided to the company by the FRA. (Regulatory requirement for BEI to screen new names presented against our entire portfolio immediately upon instruction.
  • Active maintenance of the negative lists held within the Lexis Nexis screening tool. (Regulatory requirement to ensure that our customer portfolio is screened frequently)
  • Assessment of alerts produced by screening procedure.

    • Anti money Laundering experience
    • Fluency in speaking Arabic
    • Flexibility
    • Microsoft Office skills
    • 3rd party software experience in Alexis Nexus (desired but not essential)
