Imperium Commodity Search is confidentially retained by a small-mid sized oil and energy trading and services business, that has its Head Office based in Mayfair, London. With a rapidly changing landscape over recent years, the oil and energy trading space requires astute financial management & control. Having both physical and paper desks, our client is seeking an experienced financial controller who understands the complexities of finance management in a diversified trading environment.
As Financial Controller for this growing, international outfit, you will be reporting to the CFO and overseeing all aspects of financial account, reporting and control for the firm. Being in the fast paced oil trading space, prior experience of the pressures and timeliness requirements of month end reporting in this industry is required.
This role will work with colleagues in Dubai and a team in London (including the CFO) as well as for financial management matters. Diversification in the business translates to a varied financial control role that will demand agility and attention to detail with communication lines into a number of areas of the company.
Responsibilities:

• Manage and enhance the month and year end process from start to finish for the group
• Prepare and present monthly management accounts to senior management
• Responsible for month end and year end financial and audit for the business
• Manage Balance Sheet and P&L Reconciliation, treasury management, cash reporting and cash-flow strategy
• Analyse monthly debtor and creditor information, producing reports and analysis where required
• Submit quarterly VAT returns & prepare and present at annual budget
• Manage implementation of the new trading system to the accounting system

We would love to hear from you if you have:

• 10+ years PQE in a Finance Management, Financial Controller or Senior Finance role in a commodity trading environment
• Excellent computer skills, particularly with Excel, with the ability to learn new systems quickly and effectively
• Relevant accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc.)
• Ability to multitask and manage differing business lines within a diversified physical and derivative energy trading business
• Excellent organisation skills with strong management and coaching skills
• Understanding of the oil trading markets preferred, but not essential
