About the Role
As our first finance hire, you will build and own the financial foundation of our online crypto casino, ensuring full transparency, compliance, and scalability as we grow in the South Asian market. You'll be responsible for setting up core finance systems, managing the unique challenges of crypto and fiat flows, and delivering accurate insights into player revenues, marketing spend, and cross-border transactions.
Working closely with the CFO and partnering with Legal, People, Operations, Marketing, and Product, you will enable the business to scale responsibly and sustainably while navigating the regulatory and financial complexities of both crypto and iGaming in South Asia. This is a hands-on, high-impact role: you'll be building processes one day and shaping strategic financial planning the next. Kay value elements

• Build the company's financial systems, controls, and reporting from the ground up
• Manage and optimize crypto treasury operations (wallets, flows, exchanges)
• Verify and reconcile player crypto payments from Operations team
• Take ownership of monthly reporting, forecasting, and financial modeling
• Set up a lightweight but compliant accounting and tax structure
• Partner with external advisors for regulatory, crypto, and gaming compliance (e.g. KYC, AML)
• Prepare reports for investors, founders, and stakeholders
• Support growth initiatives with cost/revenue analysis, pricing insights, and ROI tracking
• Prepare for potential tokenomics, equity raises, or token sales
• Help scale the finance function and eventually build a small team

Experience & Background Required

• 7+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role within iGaming, online casinos, sports betting, fintech, or other high-growth digital businesses.
• Strong knowledge of crypto and blockchain transactions, including wallets, exchanges, reconciliation, and associated risks.
• Proven expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, with experience adapting frameworks for fast-scaling start-ups.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multi-currency operations, including crypto-to-fiat conversions, and payments across South Asian markets (UPI, e-wallets, local banking rails).
• Thorough understanding of iGaming financial models -- NGR (Net Gaming Revenue), GGR (Gross Gaming Revenue), player bonuses, affiliate payments, and promotional accounting.
• Solid grasp of regulatory compliance and tax frameworks, particularly AML, KYC, and anti-fraud processes relevant to crypto and gaming.
• Experience implementing and optimizing finance systems and ERPs, ensuring scalability, automation, and accuracy.
• Skilled in cashflow and risk management, able to maintain liquidity while supporting aggressive growth and marketing spend.
• Strong background in internal controls and audit processes to ensure transparency, compliance, and investor confidence.
• Proven ability to build and lead finance teams from scratch, and work cross-functionally with Operations, Legal, Marketing, and Product.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting to executive leadership and external stakeholders (investors, regulators, partners).
• Prior experience in the South Asian region is highly advantageous, with understanding of market-specific financial challenges, local regulations, and payment preferences.
