As our Financial Controller, you'll take ownership of the financial control function across the Sana group of companies. You will ensure the integrity and compliance of financial reporting under Dutch GAAP, manage and develop a high-performing, international finance team, and act as a business partner to key stakeholders across the organization.
We're looking for someone who is both strong in technical accounting (think: revenue recognition, VAT, WHT and complex reporting), and a collaborative, pro-active team player, with a hands-on mentality, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, international SaaS environment.
What you'll get:

What you'll be doing:

• Lead the month end close and reporting process and ensure timely and accurate financial data and annual financial statements under Dutch GAAP;
• Manage and develop an international team of 8 finance professionals responsible for payroll, P2P and accounting;
• Coordinate external audits and act as the primary contact for auditors;
• Own financial control processes and ensure compliance with statutory and internal requirements;
• Drive improvements in processes, systems, and internal controls, where possible with help of new (AI) technologies;
• Further improve controls on the Balance Sheet, manage international VAT, sales tax and WHT (withholding tax risks);
• Further enhance the Project Control function in Finance;
• Implement Working Capital and Liquidity management and reporting;
• Collaborate with the business controller and CFO on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis;
• Liaise with tax advisors and legal teams on financial and compliance matters across regions.

Qualifications
What you'll bring:

• Education & Certification: You are a qualified accountant (RA or RC preferred) with strong technical knowledge of Dutch GAAP or IRFS.
• Experience: At least 2 years post-qualification in a financial control or senior accounting role, or 6+ years in an accounting firm (preferably Big 4). Experience in SaaS or other complex, high-growth environments is required.
• Knowledge: You bring at least 3 years of experience with the Dutch tax system and payroll.
• Leadership: Proven experience managing and developing (international) finance teams, including remote teams across multiple time zones.
• Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills, with experience in Power BI and Business Central (strong plus).
• Work Approach & Mindset: Proactive, structured, and detail-oriented, with excellent time-management and prioritization skills. You thrive in a hands-on, dynamic scale-up environment and bring structure when challenges arise.
• Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills. You're resourceful, collaborative, and fluent in English (Dutch is a strong plus).
