Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to oversee all financial operations within the organization. The ideal candidate will be a CA or ACCA-qualified professional with significant experience in the contracting or real estate sector, possessing expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Compliance

Prepare and present accurate financial statements in accordance with accounting standards (IFRS) and regulatory requirements.

Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax filings, including VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory obligations.

Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory authorities for successful year-end audits.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning

Lead the budgeting process, collaborating with senior management to align financial objectives with strategic goals.

Prepare regular forecasts and monitor financial performance, adjusting plans to meet business needs and market conditions.

Provide insights into cost management and financial strategy for both short-term and long-term business growth.

Internal Controls & Risk Management

Develop, implement, and enhance internal controls to mitigate financial risks, ensuring the integrity and compliance of financial reporting.

Monitor financial processes, ensuring the prevention of errors or fraud, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and transparency.

Project Financial Management & Reporting

Oversee financial management for construction or real estate projects, ensuring proper cost allocation, budgeting, and revenue recognition.

Track project performance, ensuring adherence to financial targets and timelines, and proactively address any variances or financial issues.

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, providing financial insights to support decision-making across departments.

Serve as a key point of contact for financial matters with senior management and external partners.

Qualifications and Key Requirements:

Professional qualification in Finance CA/ACCA/CPA/CMA & Degree in Accounting or Finance.

At least 7+ years of experience with 3 years post Qualification.

Minimum of 4 years of experience in preferably within the contracting or real estate industry.

Extensive knowledge of IFRS, local tax regulations, and financial compliance requirements.

Advanced proficiency with ERP systems and Excel.

Proven leadership and team management experience.

Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
