Job Description
Mark-to-Market Accounting:
- Manage and execute mark-to-market accounting processes for energy trading portfolios, ensuring accurate valuation of positions and compliance with accounting standards.
- Analyze market trends and factors influencing mark-to-market valuations.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements related to energy trading activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial data for reporting purposes.
Month-end and Year-end Close:
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, reconciling accounts, and ensuring financial data integrity.
- Provide support for external audits and collaborate with auditors to address inquiries related to mark-to-market accounting.
Risk Management:
- Work closely with risk management teams to understand and incorporate risk factors into mark-to-market accounting processes.
- Contribute to the development of risk mitigation strategies based on financial analysis.
Compliance and Regulation:
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes affecting energy trading accounting practices.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, reporting requirements, and industry regulations.
