Career Area:Administrative Support : Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities: Objectives:

Responsible for ensuring financial reporting comply with US GAAP and Group accounting policies.

Ensure robust internal controls are in place for Iraq business and compliance to SOX requirements.

Ensure adherence to EMEA delegation of authority matrix (DoA).

Provide commercial finance support for tenders and ensure tender approvals are in line with delegation of authority matrix.

Strong working capital management by driving actions for customer collections and ensuring budget and forecast targets are exceeded.

Leading & managing all FP&A related process, Budgeting, Forecasting, Month end reporting and evaluation of business case.

Ensure timely and accurate submission of monthly financial statements for Iraq branch for Caterpillar consolidation reporting.

Lead the monthly work in progress reviews and work in conjunction with Operations team in resolving any issues in a timely manner.

Review financial performance of Operation & Maintenance projects, comparing YTD actuals and forecasted project completion margins against tendered margins.

Leading and presenting monthly management business reviews in conjunction with General Manager to OGEH President, OGEH Finance Director and other key stakeholders in the business.

Review, appraise, recommend on capex requests, and approve capex in line with delegation of authority matrix.

Promote a 'business partnering' culture within Iraq BU, with finance embedded as a key part of the local management team.

Monitor the operating financial control mechanisms in the business and strengthen them where required.

Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are prepared timely and accurately followed by balance sheet reviews, resolving any potential issues while continually improving processes and controls.

Responsible for ensuring salary payments are processed timely and in accordance with approved payroll by HR.

Ensure monthly / yearly filings and timely payment of Income tax and social security returns for Iraq business.

Working closely with Iraq auditors and ensuring Audited Financial Statements are prepared in accordance with Iraqi Unified Accounting Standards.

Ensure timely submission of corporate tax filings and support the tax audit process in conjunction with company tax consultants.

Support internal and external audits by providing timely and accurate information as requested by auditors.

Responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time.

Manage the Iraq finance function, by leading, coaching, mentoring & developing 3 direct reports - Assistant Business Finance Partner, GL accountant and Accounts Assistant

Ensure each member of the finance team has annual performance targets agreed, perform periodic reviews through the year.

Travel to Iraq will be required as part of this role, ideally once per Quarter minimum.

Successful achievement of key financial metrics.

Finance department perceived as 'best in class' and a full business partner to other functional departments.

Continue to foster a 'no surprises' culture.

Clean internal and external audit reports and improvement in Internal audit ratings.

Education and/or Experience:
Must be qualified Chartered Accountant, ACCA, CIMA, preferably with cost accounting and commercial finance experience. Experience of working in a manufacturing business & service business preferred. Minimum 10 years of experience. Excellent communication skills.
Product Knowledge:
Prior experience in an O&G services business preferable but not mandatory
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Computer Skills:
Standard Microsoft Office package with particular focus on excel. Previous experience with ERP accounting packages.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Physical Demands:
Desk based job with little manual handling required.
