Financial Controller 6 Month Maternity

Job Description
We're seeking a highly qualified Financial Controller to join our client (professional services industry) for a 6-month temporary basis to cover maternity leave. The ideal candidate will be technically strong, detail-oriented, and able to step seamlessly into a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the CFO and managing a team of 5-6 accountants.
- Oversee all financial accounting, operational accounting (AP, AR, Payroll, banking), and month-end close activities.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with IFRS and internal controls.
- Lead preparation of management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and cash flow reports.
- Support audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
- Drive process improvements and maintain robust financial governance.
- Ability to start immediately and manage a smooth handover period.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent).
- 5-7 years post-qualification experience.
- Initial training from a Top 10 global accounting firm is essential.
- 4-5 years' experience in industry, as a Financial Controller or similar technical finance role.
- A strong team manager
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
