Job Purpose

To ensure that country risk limits are properly maintained & reviewed to protect company assets; provide effective analysis of confidential individual dealer financial situations including continuity planning and make improvement recommendations through in-depth financial presentations which contribute to financially sound and successful dealer operations.

Duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Lead Finance related & process improvements projects for District offices and the EAME Region.
  • Provide Financial and Project management expertise on cross functional projects.
  • Map and implement best practices on adhoc basis on projects.
  • Work in close collaboration with Assistant Finance Manager on Transition, Legal and Process related projects & topics.
  • Analyses confidential financial reports and evaluates the financial strength in assigned region(s).
  • Assists dealers in short- and long-term financial planning, credit and collections, accounting, cash management, financial solutions, project financing etc.
  • Reports financial trends, and problem areas affecting dealer performance and recommends solutions to the dealer, Region Finance, District and Region Managers.
  • Lead in deploying Project CFO supporting dealer and Caterpillar industries in growth projects.
  • Review and monitor Dealer development and investments plans from a financial perspective.
  • Provide regular updates to District and Region Managers through quarterly reports.
  • Actively support District priorities and projects from a financial and legal standpoint.
  • Works with district personnel to develop and manage merchandising programs to enhance dealer sales to customers.
  • Analyses specific dealer sales transactions and has the authority to extend payment terms as warranted.
  • Administers finance-oriented programs for dealers and conducts audits of dealer inventory and controls as necessary.
  • Provide input to CAT Finance for country and dealer limit renewal.
  • Manages and collects company receivables from loans and investments to dealers from Caterpillar.
  • Administers payment policy to dealers and minimize past dues.
  • Evaluates and recommends risk limits for each country to Finance Manager.
  • Assists dealers in confidential financial continuity planning to analyse the financial impact on the dealership when transitioned to new owner. Also establishes and recommends the capital requirements and credit lines necessary when a dealer change is made.
  • Analyses and evaluates proposals submitted by prospective dealer candidates and makes recommendations relative to acceptability.
  • Provide assistance to dealers in obtaining affordable financing and flexible credit line arrangements from financial institutions.
  • Analyses existing lending agreements and participates in negotiations with the dealers and their lenders for mutually acceptable legal documentation to protect company assets.
  • Develops and deploys financial solutions for dealers and large deals in coordination with ECA, Commercial banks, CAT Finance and dealers.
  • Prepare and maintain dealer assessment through various processes including Dealer Scorecard and dealer profile.
  • Monitors compliance to Dealer Finance Procedures, Sarbanes Oxley Accounting, Treasury Letters and EAME Finance Policies.
  • Supports enterprise in embargo and screening related processes. May include the review and negotiation of sales contracts and bids which are outside the scope of transactions governed by Sales and Service Agreements to ensure best protection of company interests and compliance with Legal, Tax and Commercial considerations.
  • Review and recommend title transfer exceptions, Sales, and Service Agreement conditions.
  • Actively supports special transactions with Corporate Account and legal.
  • Manages and direct payable, claims and various dealer queries. Setup system processes and data base in coordination with various CAT and dealer ordering groups.
Background/Experience:
  • A completed Financial Accounting degree or similar/ related qualification.
  • 4 - 6 years practical experience in financial management and corporate finance is required.
  • Project Management background and experience is essential.
  • Analytical and skilled in systems/Microsoft tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are desirable along with the ability to work with a diverse workforce within company and dealer management.
  • Logistic and supply chain understanding.
