Job responsibilities:

To lead, manage and support all finance and procurement related activities with the use of all company policies, processes and procedures aiming to achieve the VeBes O&M (Al Wathba 2 and Allahamah) business objectives in the short, medium and long terms through continuous improvement, sound financial management and in accordance with the terms of O&M contract and the Integrated Management System.

Finance and Procurement tasks
  • Ensure that all finance and procurement activities are performed in accordance with best practice, sound financial principles, company policy, company procedures, legal and contractual compliance at all times.
  • Ensure the implementation and execution of activities on the Lean for Value and continuous improvement concept and principles.
  • Work in close collaboration with O&M to maximize overall company performance and resource effectiveness/efficiency.
  • Optimize available financial resources to meet company requirements.
  • Guide and support the O&M teams with regards to all financial management and procurement aspects
  • Assist with the establishment and management of service agreements with all major equipment suppliers to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure that all company policies, procedures, legal obligations and contractual obligations are implemented and followed at all times.
  • Oversee and guide spare part purchasing, management and control based on best practice principles in close collaboration with the O&M Team.
  • Oversee, guide and monitor all facets of the company accounting system based on efficiency, transparent and ethical principles.
  • Coordinate and monitor audit processes (finance, procurement) as and when required.
  • Provide advice on foreign exchange positions and risks.
  • Manage all HR related financial aspects related to remuneration and benefits.
Management
  • Ensure that all finance and procurement activities and responsibilities are proactively managed, monitored and performed in accordance with approved financial norms, legal and contractual requirements.
  • Act as financial signatory in accordance with the approved and updated signatory matrix.
  • Compile, coordinate, consolidate and monitor the VeBes O&M budget to achieve targets and objectives.
  • Manage all aspects of the VeBes O&M accounts including confidentiality, bank liaison, cheque books, salary payments, electronic transfers/payments, hedging, etc.
  • Manage, control and report on VeBes O&M petty cash position as applicable.
  • Perform required performance appraisals.
  • Ensure good and effective contractor and project management at all times.
  • Ensure the availability of all suppliers by managing payments on time.
  • Implement and maintain strong accounting controls in line with good corporate governance.
  • Act as signatory in the company authority matrix with the required responsibility, authority and business acumen.
Environment, Health and Safety
  • Ensure, promote and encourage safe work practices on site at all times.
  • Support the QHSE monitoring and reporting system (Near Misses, Accidents, Unsafe Act and Unsafe condition) based on a zero tolerance approach.
  • Ensure compliance to all aspects of the AD EHSM System at all times.
Team work and Collaboration
  • Work in close relationship with all colleagues, sub-contractors and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate and encourage the sharing of mutually beneficial relevant information between both plants for the benefit of the VeBes O&M Company.
  • Assist/support/coach/guide team members to improve performance.
  • Actively contribute to achieving business goals, KPI\'s, and objectives to realise the company vision and mission.
Organizing and Reporting
  • Ensure that all internal/external reporting is performed promptly and accurately to all shareholders.
  • Prepare all relevant contractual reports promptly and accurately.
  • Perform investigations and produce reports when required (fraud, misappropriation, etc)
  • Identify, assess and guide the development/improvement of necessary reports and tools to improve overall finance/procurement and work load efficiency.
  • Attend meetings, interviews, safety walks, regional events, etc. when required.
Communication
  • Report all relevant information to the General Manager promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure effective and prompt communication within the company.
  • Liaise and communicate with stakeholders on authorized financial/procurement matters as and when appropriate.
Qualifications

Education and Experience Required
  • Accredited and recognized Degree in Financial/accounting or equivalent.
  • 5 years continuous experience in the industrial business environment.
Technical Skills
  • Excellent numeric and financial analytical and interpretation skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of financial and accounting practice and management.
  • Innovative and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Good knowledge of applicable local finance related legislation.

  • Excellent HSE knowledge.

  • Proficiency in the use of shareholder accounting programs.
