Finance Functional Consultant (Junior / Senior Analyst Level)

Role Overview
We are seeking a Finance Functional Consultant (Junior to Mid-Level) with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance. The consultant will work under the guidance of senior functional leads and the Finance lead, supporting the implementation, configuration, testing, and documentation of finance modules.
This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, strong in core finance processes, and capable of translating business requirements into D365 Finance configurations.
Core Responsibilities

• Assist in end-to-end implementation of D365 Finance modules: GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Cash & Bank, and Financial Core.

• Participate in requirement-gathering workshops and document business processes using Avanade templates.

• Configure the Finance modules based on solution design and perform unit testing.

• Support SIT and UAT cycles: defect analysis, resolution, and re-testing.

• Engage with business users to clarify functional queries and guide them through process flows.

• Prepare functional design documents (FDDs) for customizations.

• Coordinate with technical teams for integrations and reporting requirements.

• Support cutover planning, data migration validation, and finance opening balances.

• Ensure alignment with GCC localization features (VAT, Withholding Tax, Statutory reporting).

• Support training and creation of end-user documentation.

Required Skills & Competencies
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance--Advanced proficiency in:

• General Ledger

• Accounts Payable

• Accounts Receivable

• Fixed Assets

• Cash & Bank Management

• Financial Core Functionality

• Financial Period Close / Year-end processes

Additional Functional Skills

• Understanding of chart of accounts design, dimensions, and financial reporting structures.

• Hands-on experience with vendor payment proposals, customer settlements, and bank reconciliation.

• Knowledge of Asset Leasing, Budgeting, and Project-to-Finance integrations (preferred).

• Knowledge of Tax configurations for GCC (VAT setup, tax postings, settlement rules).

• Ability to analyse business processes and suggest best-practice D365 solutions.

• Strong documentation and workshop support skills.

Candidate Profile

• 2-4 years of experience in MS Dynamics 365 Finance or AX 2012.

• Experience in at least one end-to-end ERP implementation (D365 preferred).

• Strong finance domain knowledge (ideally with an accounting or finance background).

• Collaborative, detail-oriented, and eager to learn from senior consultants.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-facing ERP delivery environment.

Preferred Certifications

• MB-310: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate (strongly preferred)

• PL-200: Power Platform Functional Consultant (nice to have)

• MB-920: Dynamics 365 Fundamentals (ERP) (nice to have)

• Accounting qualifications (CA/CPA/CMA) are an added advantage.
