to support the day-to-day financial operations of our freight forwarding business. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics or shipping finance, with strong attention to accuracy, timelines, and compliance.
Responsibilities
Handle billing, invoicing, and accounts receivable for freight and logistics services
Process vendor invoices and manage accounts payable, ensuring timely payments
Prepare daily bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
Assist with month-end closing, journal entries, and general ledger updates
Track shipment profitability and validate cost allocations (freight, customs, handling, etc.)
Coordinate with operations and customer service teams to resolve billing disputes
Maintain proper documentation for audits and compliance with tax/VAT regulations
Support financial reporting and internal control processes
Liaise with banks, external auditors, and tax consultants when required
Assist in budgeting and forecasting for freight and logistics operations
Requirements
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
2 - 4 years of experience in finance, preferably within freight forwarding or logistics
Familiarity with shipping documentation, incoterms, and cost structures
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, or industry-specific ERPs)
Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of VAT and local tax regulations (e.g., UAE VAT if applicable)
