  • Partner closely with Area Leadership and EMEA Finance Director to achieve business goals, identifying opportunities, risks and developing risk mitigations.
  • Work closely with the ANI Division leadership to ensure proper financial guidance, processes, communication, and leadership is in place in MEAP.
  • Ensure proper staffing and development for the finance function in MEAP.
  • Lead in the development of the MEAP Financial Planning and Analysis strategy, policy, and procedures.
  • Ensure that financial metrics/KPIs and discipline are in place to sustain the Area goals as well as enhance the current processes.
  • Develop appropriate financial strategies and implement programs with administrative excellence in accordance with the company\xe2\x80\x99s strategic objectives.
  • Partner with Area leadership team, and country General managers to advance division/company goals and objectives.
  • Partner with Area Leadership and provide support in key decisions and ensure responsible investment decisions. Provide financial counsel analysis for proposed strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure integrity of financial books and records, establish, and maintain a robust and compliant internal control environment in the Region.
  • Monitor performance against financial plans /LBE\xe2\x80\x99s and ensure that Area management is advised on risk & opportunities.
Core Job Responsibilities:List the primary tasks or activities this job performs.
  • Provide financial direction, guidance & leadership for the MEAP affiliates creating and sustaining a healthy growing business to support the Region/ Area financial goals.
  • Lead the budgeting, planning, analysis and reporting activities for MEAP,
  • Manage accurately and timely the monthly/quarterly financial close.
  • Meet all financial reporting requirements within agreed upon timelines. Provide timely, accurate and insightful analysis related thereto which provides senior management necessary information with which to address variances and develop corrective actions.
  • Close follow up and monitoring of stocks at wholesaler\xe2\x80\x99s/distributor level (all Tiers).
  • Close follow up and monitoring of DSO/Payments and credit risk (in partnership with ALOG).
  • Actively participate in all acceleration plans, in-licensing / divestiture, and other strategic alliance opportunities within MEAP
  • Regular Balance sheet reviews ensure all reconciliation are properly documented.
  • Own and foster financial disciplines in alignment with Abbott policies and procedures across MEAP.
  • Develops an fosters relationship with key internal and external business stakeholders to promote Abbott interests.
  • Regular Visits to key markets for assessment and trade visits
  • Ensure that all ANI practices follow the local legal laws and regulations in each country, as well as with all Abbott audit requirements and applicable U.S. regulations (ex. OFAC)
Minimum Skills Required:(Identify the specific skills needed to perform this job effectively (leadership skills, selling skills, computer literacy)
  • Understanding and knowledge of cultural, political, and economic environments and health care systems in the MEAP environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, coach, and develop people.
  • Analytical skills to digest and quickly grasp substantial amounts of data, and to recognize key issues / opportunities and act accordingly.
  • Demonstrated managerial courage to make and stand by complex decisions.
  • Demonstrated responsibility for adhering to all local laws and with full compliance of Pharma policies/procedures.
  • Demonstrated entrepreneurialism and ability to work in opportunistic markets.
  • Understanding of OFAC practices & guidelines would be a plus.
  • Ability to create economic value propositions.
  • Experience in leading and handling business transformation strategies, plans and activities.
  • Proven experience in handling in & out-licensing activities and sizeable business development deals / acquisitions
  • Cost conscious mentality with an ability to drive change cross culturally and implement with speed.
  • Broad knowledge and ability to handle broad distributorship networks, challenges and varying sourcing models.
  • Ability to manage financial ERP systems across but not limited to full functional Finance scope of operation.
Experience Required:Describe the on-the-job experience level required to perform this job (management experience)
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience
  • Solid expertise in healthcare/retailing business model.
  • Track record of successfully running multiple countries/regional responsibility
  • Experience in implementing and running monthly S&OPs
Knowledge / Education Required: Identify the knowledge, expertise, educational level required to perform this job successfully.(Product/industry knowledge, technical/business acumen, degree, professional certification etc)
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree (Accounting, Finance, Economics)
  • MBA / CMA / CFA / CPA and similar post graduate education
  • Arabic & French are a plus.
