Job Description

Due to anticipated growth throughout 2023, Wood is currently inviting applications of Field Structural Engineers with experience in oil and gas engineering for our Engineering team in Abu Dhabi

Below are some key responsibilities and duties:

Responsibilities:

+ Interface with the Site Construction Team, Client Engineering Group, Home Office Engineering team, Site Engineering Team, and Field Personnel as required to complete all assigned task.

+ Develops solutions to engineering and other field related issues that arise from the execution of project installation activities.

+ Provide timely and complete resolution to technical questions and requests for information

+ Resolve design conflict and field interference issues

+ Maintain and publish field sketches for problem resolution

+ Maintain Project As-Built drawings

+ Travel to off-site fabrication facilities, as necessary, to verify material supply complies with project specifications

+ Work Package development

+ Task plan support and assistance as needed as directed by Engineering Manager

+ RFI development, resolution, and tracking

+ Review and support of RFQ's as needed

+ Ensure IFC Quantities are developed and reported to Project Controls for entering into Project Tracking System

+ Ensure that the Project Scope is being installed per IFC'ed Documents

+ Ensures compliance with job specifications

+ Other duties as assigned by Engineering Manager

+ Assist Supervisors in monitoring and answering any subcontractor questions and concerns.

+ Interface with Project Vendors to assure that material is received in a timely manner and the correct material is delivered

+ Weekly Progress measurement - I.E. Recording and verification of field installed quantities

+ Manage Budget quantities vs. Take off quantities (reporting Variances)

+ Managing Project Scope for verification and control

+ IFC drawing review for cost, schedule, and other impacts.

+ Assist in developing Change Orders in the case of Scope Variance per Project Contract.

+ Other duties as approved by Engineering Manager

+ BSc, BEng or equivalent professional qualification

+ Minimum of 10 years' experience in the oil and gas industry in structural field engineering activities within construction, Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sector

+ Experience in FPSO Projects

+ Knowledge of quality control documentation, practices and procedures

+ Knowledge of computer software with experience with MS Word, MS Excel and other common business software

+ Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing

+ Ability to live and work in cross-cultural work setting

+ Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence and memos
