Summary

The Customer Service Engineer must be a self-starter who is team oriented and focused on delivering the highest level of service excellence to Leidos customers. Responsible for providing effective, efficient and compliant on-site technical and customer support for installed systems at assigned airports, as determined by Leidos needs. Will install, commission, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and test a variety of complex X-ray or CT based electronic and electromechanical equipment, which may include computer and networking systems. Many of the systems are integrated into a larger airport systems environment including complex baggage handling systems.

System types include the following but not limited to -

Check point CT systems

Checkpoint x-ray systems

Explosive Detection Systems (EDS)

Automatic tray return systems (ATRS)

Explosive trace detection systems (ETD)

Millimeter wave technology passenger screening (MMW).

Will follow standard protocol, procedures and identified best practices to isolate and resolve problems in malfunctioning equipment or software. The FST position requires the ability to work independently with limited supervision. The FST may be required to work and travel to other airport locations and Leidos customer sites for extended periods.

What you will be doing

We are looking for a Qualified Field Technician to join our team at our highly successful UAE operations.

Reporting to the Regional Service Supervisor with primary roles in troubleshooting and ongoing maintenance of airport security systems at our highly valued client\xe2\x80\x99s site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Usually acting independently, performs a wide variety of technical support activities by installing, troubleshooting, maintaining and servicing High and Low Energy x-ray based security systems at customer sites. Typically handles complex products and/or problems and may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians. Helps develop and maintain relationships and favorable contacts with current and potential clients within MEAI region, etc. Helps ensure unparalleled client satisfaction through the delivery and maintenance of best-in-class security and detection products and related professional services. The duties and responsibilities may change from time to time without notice and include but are not limited to the duties described below.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinates the planning and delivery of preventative maintenance (PM) services on various types of security search equipment to regional customers.

Performs Corrective Maintenance (CM) on the responsible system and location, as required.

Coordinates and provides support to regional customers by installing, calibrating, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting and repairing of Automatic Tray Return System (ATRS).

Provides technical and operational reports, presentation and machine statistics, as requested by end user.

Develop and write reports in relation to work completed and advise customers on future suspected issues.

Works with customer via phone or person to identify operations/technical problems. Responds to customer complaints and questions until resolved.

Works with Service Engineering Team to understand and implement Service Excellence in all aspects of Field Service.

Ensures correct procedures and processes are adhered to during parts replacement and management.

Ensures EH&S practices and guidelines are followed at customer site.

Troubleshoots and diagnoses system/equipment interface problems during installations.

Acquaints customer personnel with the full capabilities of the equipment and/or systems for the immediate operational requirements. Advises customer of all equipment changes and authorized modifications.

Conducts local visits to customer sites (border and seaports) to help determine requirements, needs, and perceptions.

Prepares and conducts formal and informal training courses for customer personnel in the operation and maintenance of systems and equipment. Provides on-site technical and operator training.

Is proficient at Siebel/SalesForce and completes admin tasks to required deadlines.

Education and/or Experience:

Graduate of technical school / or military training in electronics engineering technology or similar.

Typically possesses more than five (3) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in field service environment with at least two (2) of which have been with a directly applicable industry and specific highly skilled knowledge of x-ray, ATRS, and company\xe2\x80\x99s products and equipment.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Excellent customer interface, presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written are required. Knowledge of complex digital and analog circuitry is required.

Knowledge of complex mechanical systems, familiarity with test equipment (DVM and oscilloscope) and experience with High Voltage and X-ray producing equipment preferred.

Team player with ability to prioritize and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight.

Ability to perform multiple diverse activities simultaneously and independently.

Must be available to travel throughout MEAI on short notice, work non-standard hours, travel on weekends, and assist other field sites as required.

Proficient in computer literacy for programs such as MS Office and willingness with aptitude to learn new SW programs, as required by job role.

May be required from time to time to lift heavy weights (70lbs).

Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes and provide efficient solutions.

Ability to work in a cross functional organization.

The job location is based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirate.
