The Field operator will be a member of the GTL Shift Operations Team and be responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation of the GTL process units and facilities.

The field Operator is responsible for the operations of GTL area which heart of the GTL complex. GTL area consists of the two operational areas, Shell Gasification Process (SGP) and Heavy Paraffin Synthesis (HPS) and produces synthetic crude from natural gas and oxygen that is received as feed stock and feeds to downstream LPU units for further processing of wax into products.

Field operator will be responsible to maintain the safe and stable operations of the units, safe startup and shutdown of the units as decided by the department.

Field operator plays vital role in ensure strong personal safety culture in field in operation and maintenance teams by stetting right expectations. The candidate should have extensive operations experience in operation of large-scale oil and gas or petrochemical, refinery experience. HSE - HSSE (Risk management, hazard analysis, incident classification and investigation, incident control) - Safety and environmental awareness and ability to carry out Site Safety Emergency, Environment and General procedures. - Understands and can Identify when a unit or process is deemed unsafe to continue running and can implement the shutting down of the unit. Can think and act under pressure. - Permit to Work - Emergency Response - Handling of Hazardous Materials People - Ability to anticipate and act on how activities will impact others and build relationships with people to achieve team objectives. - Ability to set high standard for self, continuously improve own performance and meet or exceed objectives. - Ability to clearly convey ideas orally and in writing, and to listen to and understand what others are saying. Technical - Ability to start up, shutdown and prepare process units for maintenance as field operator - Ability to identify problems, determine how to solve problems, evaluate alternatives, assess risks, and make timely decisions. - Sound understanding of unit operations and equipment - Start up and shut down of equipment and processes - Preparing equipment for maintenance or inspection - Hand back and commissioning of equipment Soft skills - Computer literacy. - Team co-ordination and man management abilities.
