Job Description

The Field Engineering / Projects Superintendent oversees engineering teams and projects, combining technical expertise with strong leadership and project management skills. Their role involves managing personnel, budgets, timelines, and ensuring the successful and high-quality completion of projects that align with broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management:

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers, including recruiting, hiring, and performance management. Foster a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive work environment, resolving conflicts and ensuring team productivity. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, provide feedback, and identify professional development opportunities for team members.

Project Planning & Execution:

Develop detailed project plans, define scopes, objectives, and requirements, and determine equipment and staffing needs. Oversee project logistics, coordinate technical activities, and ensure alignment with other departments such procurement , operations. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery and successful outcomes.

Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance:

Provide technical guidance and support, ensuring the validity and accuracy of methods used by staff. Review and approve engineering designs, documentation, and technical specifications.


Implement and monitor quality control processes and ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO), and legal requirements.

Budget & Resource Management:

Propose, manage, and track project budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost-effective solutions. Manage resource allocation efficiently to optimize the use of human capital and equipment. Justify and procure necessary equipment, tooling, and materials for projects.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or a related field.

Experience:

Proven work experience as Lead Engineer / Project Management or similar leadership role ( 5+ years of experience in engineering with several years in management). Strong technical knowledge relevant to the specific industry or field.

This role is based in Iraq, on a rotation basis of 6 weeks on/4 weeks off.
