Installation:
Installing and running fiber optic and other telecommunication cables in various locations, including trenches, poles, and inside buildings.
Splicing and termination:
Joining and connecting fiber optic cables and terminating them at specific points.
Testing and troubleshooting:
Using specialized equipment like optical time-domain reflectometers (OTDRs) and optical power meters to test signal strength, diagnose problems, and repair faults to restore service.
Maintenance:
Performing routine maintenance to ensure the network's optimal performance, which can include cleaning connectors and replacing faulty equipment.
Documentation:
Keeping accurate records of installations, repairs, and test results.
Safety compliance:
Adhering to safety standards and regulations during all work activities.
Collaboration:
Working with other technicians, project managers, and engineers on network projects.
Customer service:
Providing technical support to customers when needed.
