Fiber Optic Network Extension Project Supervisor

Educational Qualification

Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.

Job Objective

To provide effective on-site supervision of fiber optic network extension, installation, and operational activities, ensuring project execution in compliance with approved technical drawings, schedules, quality requirements, and health and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Supervise daily activities of work teams on fiber optic extension projects (FTTH, FTTC, and Telecommunications Networks). Monitor field works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, and project standards. Coordinate with engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. Ensure strict adherence to occupational health and safety regulations and site work instructions. Supervise trenching, duct installation, cable pulling, fiber installation, splicing, and testing works. Inspect completed works and verify quality compliance before approval. Prepare and submit daily and weekly progress reports, including documentation of technical issues and site challenges. Ensure proper use, handling, and safety of tools, machinery, and equipment on site. Resolve minor technical and operational issues on-site and escalate complex matters to management or engineering teams. Ensure project completion within the approved timeline, budget, and required quality standards.
Required Skills

Strong knowledge of fiber optic installation systems and telecommunications networks. Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical and shop drawings. Excellent supervisory, leadership, and team management skills. Strong communication, coordination, and organizational abilities. Ability to work under pressure in dynamic field environments. Good understanding of occupational health and safety practices. Computer literacy with reporting and documentation skills.
Experience

Minimum of

2 to 5 years

of experience in fiber optic installation projects or telecommunications works. Proven field experience supervising labor teams and subcontractors.
Working Conditions

Field-based role requiring work at various project sites.
