Responsibilities:

Assist veterinary surgeons with operations Prepare animals for surgery and perform some minor procedures, e.g. suturing wounds and dental hygiene Monitor anesthesia. Examine animals and check their health status Administer treatments including injections, fluids, and blood transfusions, place IV catheterizations and medicines Perform diagnostic tests, e.g. blood sampling, urine analysis and x-rays Dress wounds of injured animals Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the practice Handle scared or aggressive animals Confidently handle and restrain animals Take care of hospitalized cases Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, including patient monitoring and health checking, feeding, grooming and walking animals Advise pet owners on nutrition, preventive healthcare and general care Communicate with pet owners, gaining their trust and reassuring them about their animal's treatment Educate pet owners on animal health, including vaccinations, worming, flea prevention and appropriate nutrition
Update client records Requirements: *Work experience as a Veterinarian Assistant

*Experience conducting various vaccinations, and health checks on animals

*Knowledge of medical equipment (e.g. X-ray machines) and anesthesia procedures Problem-solving skills

*Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions using simple language

*Availability to take evening or weekend shifts in cases of emergency

Ability to Conduct Mobile Veterinary visits at our Veterinary Van Patience and a love for animals
