We are looking for Veterinary Assistant with a minimum 2 years experience as veterinarian assistant Applicants must have experience in working within a small animal veterinary practices with a sound knowledge of blood sampling, urine analysis and x-rays. We are looking for candidates who are able to focus on maintaining high levels of both patient and client care. You will be self-motivated with a positive attitude and have a warm and compassionate approach to our patients, clients and team. The role involves an element of people management and applicants should be able to work well within a team and demonstrate leadership skills. Our clinic has excellent levels of digitized radiology equipment and well equipped in-house laboratory equipment. This will allow you every opportunity to work up and treat cases to your full potential. You will be working as part of a very qualified and supportive team which includes certificate holders in surgery and medicine that allows for the opportunity to share knowledge and further develop your skills.

Responsibilities:
\xe2\x80\xa2Assist veterinary surgeons with operations
\xe2\x80\xa2Prepare animals for surgery and perform some minor procedures, e.g. suturing wounds and dental hygiene
\xe2\x80\xa2Monitor anesthesia

• Examine animals and check their health status
• Administer treatments including injections, fluids, and blood transfusions, place IV catheterizations and medicines
• Perform diagnostic tests, e.g. blood sampling, urine analysis and x-rays
• Dress wounds of injured animals

\xe2\x80\xa2Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the practice

• Handle scared or aggressive animals
• Confidently handle and restrain animals
• Take care of hospitalized cases
• Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, including patient monitoring and health checking, feeding, grooming and walking animals
• Advise pet owners on nutrition, preventive healthcare and general care

\xe2\x80\xa2Communicate with pet owners, gaining their trust and reassuring them about their animal\'s treatment

• Educate pet owners on animal health, including vaccinations, worming, flea prevention and appropriate nutrition
• Update client records

Requirements:

• Work experience as a Veterinarian Assistant
• Experience conducting various vaccinations, and health checks on animals
• Knowledge of medical equipment (e.g. X-ray machines) and anesthesia procedures \xe2\x80\xa2 Problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions using simple language
• Availability to take evening or weekend shifts in cases of emergency
• Ability to Conduct home visits occasionally, in case of emergency
• Patience and a love for animals
• UAE license
• Certificates attested by UAE relevant authorities
• Dubai Driving license
