Key Responsibilities:
  • Counsel and instruct clients on techniques to improve hearing or speech impairments.
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of hearing and speech/language disorders to determine diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Fit and dispense assistive devices, such as hearing aids, based on clients\' needs and impairments.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, documenting initial evaluations and discharge information.
  • Monitor clients\' progress and discharge them from treatment upon achieving their goals.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, psychologists, and other healthcare personnel to plan and conduct treatment programs.
  • Recommend appropriate assistive devices and make referrals to additional medical or educational services as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to educators and other medical staff on speech or hearing-related topics.
  • Conduct or oversee research on hearing or speech topics and report findings to contribute to the development of procedures, technology, or treatments.
  • Develop and supervise hearing screening programs to identify potential hearing impairments.
  • Educate and supervise audiology students and other healthcare personnel.
  • Fit and calibrate cochlear implants, providing rehabilitation to aid in adjustment to listening with implant amplification systems.
  • Instruct clients, parents, teachers, or employers on effective communication strategies to avoid miscommunication.
  • Participate in conferences or training sessions to stay updated on new treatment methods or technologies for hearing and speech disorders.
  • Measure noise levels in workplaces and conduct hearing protection programs in industries, schools, and communities.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to assess and rehabilitate individuals with implanted hearing devices.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Audiology is a mandatory requirement.
  • Postgraduate diploma in Audiology is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably within a hospital setting.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Proficiency in computer applications is necessary.
  • A valid MOH license/Evaluation letter is mandatory.
  • Fluent English language skills are required, while proficiency in Arabic is preferred.
