Key ResponsibilitiesSpecialty Coffee Preparation

Prepare espresso-based drinks with precision, adjusting grind size, dose, and extraction as needed. Brew manual filter methods such as V60, Chemex, Aeropress, French Press, or Kalita. Calibrate espresso machines and grinders daily for optimal flavor. Maintain high consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.

Customer Interaction & Coffee Education

Engage customers with friendly, knowledgeable service. Explain coffee origins, processing methods, tasting notes, and brewing styles. Offer recommendations based on customer preferences.

Quality Control

Conduct daily cupping sessions when required. Monitor freshness of beans and follow proper storage procedures. Maintain strict standards for milk steaming, latte art, and beverage presentation.

Operational Duties

Maintain cleanliness of bar stations, brewing tools, and cafe areas. Follow specialty coffee hygiene, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Assist with inventory of beans, equipment, and supplies. Operate POS systems and manage cash transactions accurately.

Team Collaboration

Work closely with the Head Barista and team members to uphold cafe standards. Participate in continuous training and skill development sessions. Contribute to creating a positive and welcoming cafe atmosphere.

Skills & Qualifications

Experience working in a specialty coffee environment is strongly preferred. Solid understanding of espresso extraction, milk texturing, and manual brewing. Ability to dial in espresso and troubleshoot common equipment issues. Strong communication and customer service skills. Passion for coffee, learning, and continuous improvement. Ability to work under pressure during rush hours while maintaining quality. Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
