Job Purpose:

To handle the buying of foreign currencies in compliance with company policies and UAE Central Bank regulations. The FCY Cashier is the first point of contact for walk-in customers and plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service while ensuring secure, accurate, and efficient cash transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Currency Exchange Operations

Buy various foreign currencies from customers as per the daily exchange rates set by the management. Verify authenticity and condition of foreign currencies using company-provided equipment and guidelines. Ensure correct application of rates, including spotting, rounding, and decimal handling per policy. Maintain accurate records of transactions in the Remitex system and ensure complete documentation.

2. Cash Handling & Security

Count, balance, and report physical cash received. Ensure the cash drawer is balanced at the end of the shift. Immediately report discrepancies, counterfeit notes, or suspicious activity to the Head Cashier or Branch Manager. Follow anti-money laundering (AML) protocols and comply with KYC standards at all times.

3. Customer Service

Greet customers professionally and assist with their currency exchange needs. Answer queries about exchange rates, procedures, and services offered. Maintain a neat and presentable appearance, wearing the company uniform with a visible name tag.

4. Operational Support

Assist in preparing the branch for opening and closing procedures. Cooperate with team members to ensure seamless daily operations. Follow up on required documentation or compliance-related alerts when needed.

5. Compliance & Risk Control

Adhere to internal policies, CBUAE regulations, and company SOPs. Assist in the detection and prevention of fraudulent or suspicious transactions. Maintain confidentiality of customer and company data.

Summary

Responsible for buying foreign currencies, processing WPS and remittance transactions while ensuring full compliance with CBUAE regulations and internal policies. The role requires accuracy, excellent customer service, and strict adherence to AML/KYC standards. No selling or rate adjustment duties included.
