Job Description

The purpose of this position is to manage, coordinate and handle all faults reported to the centralised fault reporting center, Engineering Control Centre (ECC), in order to provide effective engineering and maintenance services for Dubai Metro.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in information gathering and conduct system failure diagnosis covering Rolling Stock, ATC system, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil & Track. Manage, coordinate and handle all the faults reported to the ECC and filter the cases into KPI impact-related faults (safety and service critical) and non-KPI impact-related fault. For faults that critically affect the safety and KPI of the Metro, generate a work order for the FLRT's action. For faults that are non-KPI impact, work requests will be delivered to Maintenance Centre for scheduled corrective maintenance. Arrange and coordinate repair works of systems by dispatching and directing the FLRT's team in responding to reported faults; communicate continuously with the FLRT throughout the fault rectification process. Keep close contact with the Engineering Controller when there are maintenance activities requiring special trains, track possessions, temporary isolation of equipment etc. Prepare fault reporting and failure statistics. Manage fault alarms and systems diagnostics monitoring in ECC. Monitor system performance and disseminate information to inform the respective parties. Attend all safety-related training courses or refresher training courses as required. Carry out 24-hour on-call responsibility and perform shift and emergency duties when required. Communicating with Controller Centre Controllers. Communicating with persons responsible for a Track Possession, Worksite, or movements of rail vehicles within a Possession. Attend all safety-related training courses or refresher training courses as required. Need to maintain his E and M FLRT competency and perform the FLRT roles and responsibilities when required. Perform and carry out other duties as instructed/directed by the Senior Fault Controller /Live Fault Response Manager.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Fault Controller is a centralized command and control role thus all Fault Controllers should have good leadership, communication, interpersonal, analytical, and decision-making skills.

KEY SKILLS Good literacy and strong analytical skills is required for the role. Ability to collect detailed information, process, diagnose the fault, and coordinate with the line maintenance team for unscheduled maintenance works. Ability to understand complex systems and possess good IT skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities. Thorough understanding of all aspects of safety issues related to railway operations.

EXPERIENCE Must have a minimum of 1 year, of work experience as competent E&M FLRT. Must have minimum 2 years of work experience in one of the following systems:
Electrical & Mechanical system, Civil & Track system, ATC system, or Rolling Stock and Depot system. Prior work experience in power utilities controls room, train control room, fault reporting center, or a station control room environment is desirable.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION Mush holds a degree or higher diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Civil, Computers, and/or Information Technology Engineering discipline.
