Job Description

As a farm Manager, the candidate has to work with animal production, dairy, and crop production. Farm livestock includes goats, sheep, and cows while crops cover cereals, fruits, and vegetables. You'll implement strategies for maximum yield, organize farm administration, work machinery and manage any associated businesses and staff. Description

• Analyze existing operations, crops, livestock, staff, and financial documents and recommend improvements
• Visit the different divisions to inspect crops and livestock, and also perform tests on soil and water
• Ensuring seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies are regularly restocked
• Scheduling repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery
• Recruitment and training of new staff members
• Plan finances and production to maintain farm progress against budget parameters
• Handle the marketing and sale of products produced on the farm like fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat, and grain
• Maintain production and other farm records including the estimated operating costs, ordering of farm inputs, marketing of produce, and monitoring of animal health and feeding requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in agriculture, animal science, or equivalent
• Extensive experience in a farming-related field
• Extensive experience in handling livestock, especially goats and sheep
• Extensive experience in handling the plantation and harvesting of fruits, vegetables, and plants
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
• Minimum 5 years of experience is required in the same field
