The PR & Communications Intern will be responsible for facilitating public relations for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts across Europe, Middle East, Africa & Asia Pacific. The position also entails rolling out communication strategies, organizing media and social media influencer fam trips, gathering information for writing and pitching of media releases. The ability to comfortably interact with key departments, combined with excellent time management skills, multi-tasking abilities and attention to detail are essential criteria for this position.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of PR & Communications, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Assist in implementing and rolling out the annual communications strategy for the brand.
• Coordinate media requests and inquiries.
• Actively part of social media strategy: Influencer management, LinkedIn Comms
• Assist with management of brand ambassadors.
• Assist with photoshoot requirements for PR Purposes.
• Assist with local and international media familiarization (media and social media influencer) trips with local tourism bodies and airline partners.
• Assist in the creation of press material for targeted media distribution and proactively disseminate this information.
• Assist in distribution of press material to media contacts.
• Assist in maintaining the press room.
• Assist in onboarding new hotel team members on Fairmont PR & Comms requirements and processes.
• Liaise with hotel-based PR & marketing team to support annual marketing calendars.
• Assist hotel teams with pre-opening strategy and activities.
• Assist in managing PR agency resources for the region for ad hoc projects and campaigns.
• Assist in creation and distribution of internal newsletter.
• Assist in creation of PR Clipping reports for news distributed.
• Manage financial requirements for the department (PO creation, invoice submission, payment tracking).
• Assist with PR events: media, trade shows, events.
