Faculty Position in Civil Engineering The American University of Ras Al Khaimah The Civil and Infrastructure Engineering Department at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) is seeking to fill a faculty position at the assistant/associate professor level. The successful candidate for this position must have a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering. The primary responsibility of the faculty position is to teach undergraduate and graduate courses at AURAK. All classes and other campus activities are conducted only in English. The successful candidate will be active in research in his/her fields of interests, incorporate high-impact educational practices in his/her teaching, advise undergraduate and graduate students, and provide service to the department, university, and community. The candidate will be expected to have the credentials and ability to teach the following courses:

• Highway Engineering and Design
• Transportation Engineering
• Geotechnical Engineering
• Foundation Design

Extent of experience with ABET accreditation requirements must be indicated in the cover letter. • Publishing high-quality research in leading internationally recognized journals
• Participation in outreach activities, such as continuing education workshops
• Obtaining sponsored funding in support of research program

Required qualifications:

• Undergraduate Degree in Civil Engineering
• Doctoral degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution of higher education
• Effective communication skills
• Commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship
• Interest and experience working effectively with a diverse student population
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with faculty from a variety of disciplines
• University teaching experience
