Job Description

Job Summary: The Facility Management and Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, safety, and efficiency of an organization's buildings, equipment, and infrastructure. This role ensures that all facilities meet regulatory standards, operate smoothly, and provide a safe and functional environment for employees, customers, and visitors. The manager leads a team of maintenance staff, coordinates repairs, manages budgets, and implements preventive maintenance programs. Key Responsibilities: 1. Facility Maintenance & Operations

  • Oversee daily facility operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security systems, and structural integrity.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
  • Schedule and supervise repairs, renovations, and equipment installations.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations (OSHA, EPA, local codes).
  • Manage janitorial services, landscaping, and waste disposal as needed.
2. Team Leadership & Vendor Management
  • Lead, train, and supervise maintenance staff, technicians, and contractors.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, and service providers for repairs and projects.
  • Evaluate contractor performance and negotiate service agreements.
3. Budgeting & Cost Control
  • Prepare and manage the facility maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Track expenses, approve invoices, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Recommend capital improvements and facility upgrades.
4. Safety & Compliance
  • Conduct regular facility inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Maintain records of inspections, permits, and maintenance logs.
  • Develop and enforce emergency preparedness plans (fire, power outages, natural disasters).
5. Space Planning & Project Management
  • Assist in workplace optimization, including office layouts and space utilization.
  • Oversee facility-related projects, such as renovations, relocations, and expansions.
  • Collaborate with departments to support operational needs.
6. Sustainability & Energy Efficiency
  • Implement green initiatives (energy-efficient lighting, water conservation, recycling programs).
  • Monitor utility usage and recommend improvements for sustainability.
