Facility Engineer (MEP)
Job Title: Facility Engineer (MEP)
Department: Facilities Management / Engineering
Reports To: Facilities Manager / Director
Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Facility Engineer with a strong MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) background to ensure the optimal performance, reliability, and compliance of our building systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the daily coordination of maintenance activities, managing subcontractors, and ensuring all facilities adhere to local codes and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Plan, schedule, and oversee the preventive and corrective maintenance for all MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection, and other critical infrastructure.
• Maintenance Management Software: Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software) to create work orders, track maintenance history, manage spare parts inventory, and generate performance reports.
• Subcontractor & Team Management: Manage and coordinate subcontractors for specialized services, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Coordinate effectively with in-house multidisciplinary teams.
• Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide advanced technical support and guidance for complex MEP issues, acting as an escalation point for the maintenance team.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all facility operations and maintenance activities comply with UAE local building codes, Civil Defence regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
• Daily Coordination: Coordinate and assign daily maintenance tasks to technicians and vendors, ensuring minimal disruption to building operations.
• Driving License Requirement: Utilize a company or personal vehicle with a valid UAE driving license to travel between sites as required for supervision and inspections.

Qualifications & Experience:

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience as an MEP Engineer, preferably within a facility management or property management environment.
• Valid UAE driving license is mandatory.
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• A professional engineering license or certification (e.g., from a recognized UAE or international body) is highly preferred.
• Proven proficiency in using maintenance management software (CMMS) and other facility management tools.

Technical Competencies:

• Solid technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical single-line diagrams, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Strong understanding of local UAE regulations (DM, DCD, ADM, Civil Defence, etc.).
• Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and manuals.
