Fabricator with solid structural steel experience As part of our continual improvement within our Production environment, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Workshop Supervisor to manage and coordinate all production activities and resources relating to the fabrication of Steel for a variety of commercial projects in Australia. Key Responsibilities include:
Following and monitoring adherence to workplace health and safety procedures and safe working practices
Pre-production - effectively plan, schedule, manage and coordinate all activities relating to the fabrication/production of steel for project schedules
Machine Planning \xe2\x80\x93 optimise machine processing lines and throughput
Ensuring production machinery is operational and fit for purpose at all times
Read and interpret structural drawings to ensure high quality fabrication of structural steel for a variety of projects
Troubleshoot issues; ensure fabrication queries are addressed and resolved in a timely manner
Coordinating and directing steel to the relevant phases of treatment post production
Implementing and enforcing best practice, process improvement and efficiency initiatives
Ensuring all tools are maintained, repaired and stored appropriately
Key Experience
Qualified Fabricator with solid structural steel experience
Strong safety experience in line with Australian Standards
Previous experience managing/supervising/overseeing/coordinating production operations (essential)
Experience supervising, managing, leading staff and contractors (essential)
Previous experience in rostering of resources; managing workflow; allocating tasks
Strong ability to coordinate various tasks, manage time and priorities to deadlines
Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, organisation skills
Strong quality focus
Customer-focused, with excellent client service skills
Strong people skills \xe2\x80\x93 able to build rapport, negotiate, manage expectations easily
Flexible, proactive and collaborative approach
Outstanding communication skills \xe2\x80\x93 verbal and written
Qualifications
Qualified Boilermaker
Relevant degree qualification in Manufacturing / Engineering (preferred)
Workplace Health & Safety Certification (essential)
Dogman Certified (preferred)
Forklift Licence (preferred)
First Aid Certificate (preferred)
Strong MS Office skills
Strong/advanced Excel capability

Base Hourly Rate: $ 32.00 per hour (excluding Superannuation)
Working hours will be a minimum of 42 hours per week, including overtime.
Based on a 42-hour week package will be a minimum of $71,552 (excluding Superannuation)
AU$71,552 does not include Superannuation, which is 11% on top for this.
Figure is the minimum figure that you will make, and that Overtime is almost always allowed and with the usual overtime on offer, you can make up to around AU$128k + superannuation, which take the total package to over $142k.
