Job Description

ï? Receives/follows instructions form supervisor regarding set-up and extent of work. ï? Reads, understands fabrication drawings and Bill of Materials. Familiar with various types of materials and their fabrication properties. ï? Collects necessary tools, equipment and materials to performing the job. ï? Sets-up and uses oxygen/acetylene cutting equipment on various carbon steel plate and pipes. ï? Includes connecting regulator, torch and gas cylinder and adjusting gas pressure to required levels. ï? Fabricates various pipe spools or pipe work in the workshop as directed ï? Uses oxygen/acetylene portable profile and orbital pipe cutting machines as necessary. ï? In the field, disconnects and connects pipe work in the plant/client facility, such as vessels, columns, heat exchangers, valves and general pipe work. ï? Assembles and install pipes/pipelines in trenches or on supports and hangers ï? Includes measuring pipes and associated pieces, cutting and bending to required lengths/angles and aligning, connecting, beveling. ï? Bending to required lengths/angles and aligning, connecting, beveling or tack welding as specified. ï? Or tack welding as specified. Uses a variety of tools such as cutting torch, grinder, hammer, chisel, level, square angle and large spanners. ï? Assists in hydro testing of assembled pipe work in shop or field and in interpreting test results. Sets-up and disconnects test equipment after use. ï? Carries out other duties as required by immediate supervisor. ï? Adheres to the safety rules and procedures of plant facilities. ï? Adheres to Company policies, procedures, Government laws, Rules & Regulations and work requirements. ï? Ensures awareness on identification of hazard and aspect in the workplace and determining controls
