General Summary or Job Objective

Conceptualize, design, develop and prepare architectural plans for the construction of exhibition stands, based on clients' briefs and in line with INDEX Design's strategic plan, vision, mission, values goals and objectives.

Essential Functions

Consult with accounts managers and where necessary with clients, to determine type, style and purpose of exhibition stand being considered and the concept involved Prepare designs based on the clients' brief, ideas and requirements, taking responsibility for researching the information that the client wants to relate Provide own ideas in relation to design and likely customer appeal Create stand designs that take into consideration Aesthetic aspects Practical aspects Communicates positive messages about the brand Meets practical limitations, such as space, size and budget Create initial design sketches and computer-generated three-dimensional visuals and prototypes Prepare and finalize proposed sketches and present these to clients Develop plans describing design specifications, building materials, costs and construction schedules Prepare the drawings, specifications and other construction documents for use by subcontractors Participate in contract negotiations with subcontractors Monitor activities on construction sites to ensure compliance with specifications and to ensure the project is running as scheduled and as budgeted Conduct feasibility studies and financial analyses of building projects

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelors degree is a must 2-4 years experience working in a similar industry; exhibition stand designs Proficient in AutoCAD, 3D MAX, Creative Suite, and various other types of computer-aided design programs Experience with all phases of design and construction of exhibition stands
