Quantity Surveyor / Estimator - Interior Fit-Out Responsibilities1. Estimation & Costing

Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for interior fit-out works. Take off quantities for civil, joinery, ceiling, flooring, partition, MEP, and finishing works. Prepare detailed

Bills of Quantities (BOQ)

in accordance with project requirements. Obtain and analyze quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing. Prepare

cost comparisons

and recommend the most economical options. Assist in value engineering to achieve cost-effective solutions without compromising design intent or quality.

2. Tendering & Procurement

Prepare and submit tender bids, clarifications, and post-tender queries. Attend tender meetings and negotiate with clients, consultants, and subcontractors. Prepare

rate analyses

and breakdowns for tender submissions. Coordinate with the procurement department for material sourcing and cost verification. Maintain a database of material and subcontractor rates for future reference.

3. Budgeting & Cost Control

Develop and monitor

project budgets

and update cost reports throughout the project lifecycle. Track project expenses, variations, and change orders to control cost overruns. Certify subcontractor payments and prepare monthly valuation reports. Provide cash flow forecasts and financial progress updates to management.

4. Contract Administration

Review and interpret contract terms, ensuring compliance with project agreements. Prepare and evaluate

variation orders

, claims, and extension of time (EOT) submissions. Liaise with clients, consultants, and project managers for contract-related issues. Ensure all contractual correspondence is properly documented and filed.

5. Project Coordination

Collaborate with project managers, designers, and engineers to ensure design feasibility and cost alignment. Attend site meetings to verify actual work progress and validate payment applications. Coordinate with site teams to identify and quantify additional works or changes.

6. Handover & Final Accounts

Prepare final accounts, reconciliation statements, and project close-out reports. Ensure all change orders and additional works are accounted for before project completion.
