Estimator & Tendering Engineer

Job Description

Responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and managing the estimation and tendering processes for construction or engineering projects. This role involves analyzing project requirements, developing cost estimates, preparing tender documents, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure competitive and accurate bids.

Roles & Responsibility



Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and overheads. Develop and maintain project budgets, ensuring all expenses are tracked and aligned with the project scope. Monitor and analyze project costs, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions. Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather data for accurate estimation. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to clarify project requirements and scope. Prepare and compile tender documents, including pricing schedules, scope of work, and conditions of contract. Ensure all tender submissions are compliant with client specifications and contractual obligations. Coordinate with various departments (e.g., procurement, engineering, and legal) to gather necessary information for the tender process. Review and analyze received tenders from subcontractors and suppliers, comparing costs and assessing qualifications. Provide recommendations for the selection of subcontractors and suppliers based on bid evaluations. Work closely with the Engineering Manager, project managers, and draughtsman to ensure all aspects of the project are covered in the estimation and tendering process. Conduct market research to identify cost trends, materials prices, and labor rates, ensuring competitive and accurate estimates. Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to stay updated on pricing and availability of materials and services. Prepare reports on bidding activities, project cost performance, and lessons learned to inform future estimations and tendering processes. Participate in post-tender reviews and lessons learned sessions to improve estimation and tendering practices. Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to estimating and tendering. Other duties assigned by the Line Manager.

Knowledge, Skill & Competencies required



Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in estimation and tendering within the construction or engineering industry. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate cost estimation. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Proactive attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month

Experience:

Estimation: 3 years (Required) Tendering: 4 years (Preferred) * Piling, Construction: 3 years (Preferred)
