Job Summary

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Printing Press Estimator to join our team immediately. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing precise and cost-effective estimates for printing projects by analyzing job specifications and calculating associated material, labour, and overhead costs. This role requires a deep understanding of various printing methods, strong analytical capabilities, hands-on experience with press estimation software, and effective cross-department collaboration to ensure timely and accurate quoting that aligns with operational capacities and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Review customer specifications, artwork, and technical requirements to develop detailed and accurate cost estimates though PMS. Calculate material usage (e.g., paper, ink, plates) and labour requirements for each job. Recommend the most efficient and cost-effective production method (e.g., offset, digital, large format). Collaborate closely with sales, production, and customer service teams to ensure feasibility and alignment with timelines. Prepare and present comprehensive job estimates and quotations for internal review or client submission. Maintain up-to-date records of cost data, vendor pricing, and estimating tools. Analyse completed jobs to improve future cost projections and refine estimating practices. Ensure all estimates comply with company policies, client expectations, and industry standards. Monitor quote-to-order conversion rates and recommend process or pricing adjustments as needed.
Qualifications (Education & Experience)

Associate's or Bachelor or Diploma in Printing Technology (preferred) or equivalent Minimum 2 years of experience in print estimating or production planning (required)
Technical Skills

Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., SAP, PMS, or equivalent) In-depth knowledge of prepress, press, and post press processes Familiarity with materials, finishing options, and binding methods Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
Soft Skills

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities Effective communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of paper import and tonnage pricing Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously under tight deadlines
Working Conditions

Office-based role within a print production facility Occasional visits to the shop floor and exposure to production equipment
