To support the preparation of accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for joinery and interior fit-out projects. The Estimator is responsible for quantifying materials, analysing project documentation, and gathering pricing data to support the delivery of competitive and commercially viable proposals. Working under the guidance of Senior and Principal Estimators, this role contributes to successful work winning and project planning processes through strong technical and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities
Including, but not limited to, the following;
Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for small to medium-scale joinery and fit-out projects.
Interpret and analyse drawings, specifications, and scope documents to determine quantities and material requirements.
Prepare accurate take-offs and quantity measurements using digital or manual methods.
Collect and maintain pricing data from suppliers and subcontractors.
Support the review and comparison of quotations to ensure accuracy and value for money.
Coordinate with internal departments such as Design, Procurement, and Production to gather input for pricing.
Ensure all cost data is accurately entered into estimating systems and templates (e.g., CCS, Excel).
Support in the preparation of cost breakdowns, summary sheets, and tender documentation.
Ensure all estimates are completed in line with company guidelines, procedures, and approval processes.
Participate in tender handover meetings and provide support to delivery teams where required.
Maintain a database of historical costs and completed project data for reference and benchmarking.
Qualification and Experience:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
3+ years experience in estimating or quantity surveying, ideally within the joinery or fit-out sector
Basic knowledge of joinery construction methods and materials
Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; exposure to estimating software (e.g., CCS) preferred
