Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for interior and fit-out projects based on drawings, specifications, and site requirements.
Analyze project scope and prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ) using standardized formats.
Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to understand the full scope of work.
Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to obtain up-to-date pricing for materials, finishes, and subcontracted works.
2. Pre-Contract Activities
Participate in pre-tender meetings, site visits, and client briefings to gather relevant project data.
Prepare technical and commercial proposals in response to tender requirements.
Evaluate risks, contingencies, and cost-saving opportunities during the estimation phase.
Assist in value engineering exercises to offer cost-effective alternatives without compromising design intent.
3. Market Analysis & Vendor Coordination
Maintain a database of material costs, labor rates, and subcontractor pricing specific to interior and fit-out works.
Build and manage strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive and reliable pricing.
Stay updated on market trends, material innovations, and price fluctuations in the interior design and fit-out industry.
4. Quantity Take-Offs & BOQ Preparation
Conduct accurate quantity take-offs from architectural and MEP drawings.
Prepare and review BOQs for pricing and tender submissions.
Ensure accuracy in quantities and measurement methods in accordance with industry standards.
5. Coordination with Design & Project Teams
Collaborate with design and engineering teams to align cost estimates with the latest drawings and changes.
Coordinate with project managers for budget planning and financial forecasting.
Support the design team with budget-conscious material and method selections.
6. Post-Contract Support
Assist in preparing cost reports, cost control measures, and budget tracking throughout project execution.
Support change order evaluations, variation claims, and commercial reporting to the client.
Participate in negotiations with clients and subcontractors for pricing agreements or revisions.
7. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare detailed estimation summaries, pricing breakdowns, and comparison reports for internal and client use.
Ensure all estimating documentation is well-organized, accurate, and in line with company standards.
Present estimation findings to senior management and contribute to strategic pricing decisions.
