Job Details
Responsibilities:
Analyze project specifications and blueprints to prepare accurate cost estimates
Collaborate with project teams, architects, engineers, and contractors
Quantify and estimate materials, labor, and equipment required
Research and gather data on materials costs and labor rates
Utilize estimating software for efficient cost calculations
Prepare detailed cost estimates, including subcontractor bids and overhead costs
Maintain a cost database and track historical cost data
Evaluate potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates
Present estimates to project teams, clients, and stakeholders
Update and revise estimates as project details evolve
Monitor project costs against estimates and identify variations
Stay informed about industry trends and changes in construction costs
Assist in the preparation of tender documents and proposals
Requirements
Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry
Strong analytical and mathematical skills
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in estimating
Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred
