Job Description

:

To prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for Building Maintenance Units (BMU), Facade Access Systems, and related mechanical access solutions. The role involves analyzing project specifications, drawings, and tender documents to determine cost-effective technical and commercial proposals.

Key Responsibilities:1. Estimation & Tendering

Study tender documents, technical drawings, and project specifications related to BMU and facade access systems. Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, fabrication, installation, and testing. Request, review, and analyze quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. Ensure compliance with project specifications, standards, and client requirements. Develop and prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities), cost breakdowns, and price summaries. Coordinate with design and engineering teams to confirm system selection, load analysis, and technical feasibility. Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals on time.

2. Technical Review

Understand and interpret various types of BMU systems (cradle systems, roof trolleys, monorail, davits, etc.). Provide alternative cost-effective solutions without compromising safety and compliance. Review architectural drawings to identify facade access requirements. Participate in technical discussions with consultants and clients when required.

3. Coordination

Liaise with suppliers for pricing, lead times, and technical clarifications. Coordinate with the design, project, and procurement departments to align estimation data. Attend pre-bid and post-bid meetings with clients and consultants.

4. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain an updated database of material prices, suppliers, and subcontractor contacts. Prepare tender comparison sheets and cost summaries for management approval. Support management in strategic pricing and bid decisions. Ensure proper filing and documentation of all tenders and related correspondence.

Qualifications & Skills:Education:

Bachelor's Degree in

Mechanical Engineering

or equivalent.

Experience:

Minimum

2-5 years

experience in estimation within

BMU / facade access / mechanical access equipment

industry. Familiarity with

UAE market

and supplier base is an advantage.

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of

BMU systems

,

cradle mechanisms

,

hoists

,

monorails

, and

davits

. Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings. Proficient in

AutoCAD

,

MS Excel

, and

estimation software

.

Soft Skills:

Strong analytical and numerical abilities. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
