Job Purpose:
The Estimation Engineer - Mechanical is responsible for accurately estimating costs, materials, and labor required for mechanical projects in the oil and gas industry. This role focuses on both offshore and inshore projects, ensuring that accurate and competitive bids are submitted to clients.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to understand the scope of work and project requirements.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing project scope, materials, labor, equipment, and other factors affecting project costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and procurement professionals, to gather relevant information for accurate estimations.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure compliance with project requirements and budget constraints.
  • Develop and maintain a database of historical cost data, industry benchmarks, and market trends to improve estimation accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Prepare and present cost estimates to clients, highlighting key components and justifications for the proposed costs.
  • Conduct regular site visits and engage with project teams to gather on-site data and assess project risks that may impact cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to identify potential value engineering opportunities and cost-saving measures without compromising quality and safety.
  • Participate in project kick-off meetings to provide insights and clarification on the cost estimate to the project team.
  • Coordinate with project managers and engineers to address any cost-related queries or concerns during the project execution phase.
Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Professional certifications in estimation or project management would be an advantage.

Additional Information

Experience Requirements:

8-12 years of experience as an Estimation Engineer, preferably in the Mechanical Engineering domain.
Extensive experience in estimating mechanical projects for both offshore and inshore .
Proven track record of successful cost estimations and bid submissions for oil and gas projects.

Skills & Professional Requirements:
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and materials used in the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficiency in estimation techniques, including quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and pricing strategies.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and codes related to mechanical engineering in the oil and gas sector.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in estimating project costs.
  • Proficient in using estimation software and tools.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills to convey cost estimates to clients and project stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
