Job Description

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates Conduct site visits to gather information on access, logistics, and existing conditions Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure estimates are comprehensive Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy and competitiveness Develop and maintain a database of historical cost data Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering alternatives Present estimates and cost plans to clients and stakeholders Monitor project budgets and provide updates as needed Assist in bid preparation and proposal development Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations Support project managers during the construction phase with cost-related issues
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimating Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar Excellent analytical and mathematical skills Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Strong communication and interpersonal skills Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Experience with both residential and commercial construction projects Knowledge of local building codes and permitting processes
