Overview

*** This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP***

ESH Instructor is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the EHS Training Program, instructing EHS courses to include; OSHA 510, OSHA 511, and HAZWOPER. ESH instructors will develop courses in accordance with Federal, State, and local requirements. Instructors will develop, review, and facilitate EHS courses topics both virtually and classroom face-to-face (when necessary), evaluating the students' overall performance or competency, tracking the completion of courses, and providing assistance to leadership for special EHS training.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

+ Conducts professional presentation of EHS course topics, evaluates students' comprehension of materials covered through written and/or verbal testing and hands on evaluation of skills developed to ensure competencies are achieved .

+ Authors, develops, maintains and updates course presentation plans and training modules to ensure the subject content is maintained to the current industry standards and it includes all local policy/requirements.

+ Enroll program participants, monitors program effectiveness, tracks attendance, maintain training records, and prepare periodic reports .

+ Develops and implements Environmental, Health, and Safety training procedures, as required, to maintain an effective training program and ensure a safe working environment throughout the contract .

+ Revises and updates training policies and procedures as required .

+ Performs applicable certification/re-certification of personnel .

+ Develops statistical information (data analysis) to support leaderships decisions and proposals .

+ Performs other duties as required by supervisor / management .

+ Performs responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and other applicable regulations .

Qualifications

+ Education/Certifications: Two-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

+ Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental, Health, and Safety Education or related field is preferred.

+ Safety industry-related certifications such as OSHA 501 and/or 500 instruction are a plus

+ Knowledge of federal/military EHS laws, regulations, guidelines and industry standards are a plus

+ Knowledge of Hazardous Waste operations is a plus

+ Experience:

+ Must be experienced in the field of teaching/instruction

+ Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment

+ Skills:

+ Must be detail-oriented

+ Must be team-oriented

+ Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills.

+ Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills along with reading comprehension

+ Advanced knowledge of computers and Microsoft 365 products (e.g., Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and SharePoint)

+ Ability to work independently or as a member of a robust team

+ Working Conditions:

+ Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

+ Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).

+ Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

+ Physical Requirements:

+ Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

+ Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

+ Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

+ Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
