We are seeking dedicated ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Interns to join our team. Candidate shall be assigned to an integrated Climate Change and policies team for projects within the Middle East and Europe. As an ESG Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting sustainability and responsible business initiatives. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the ESG field and contribute to meaningful projects that drive positive impacts on the environment, society, and corporate governance. The intern will gain exposure to the full range of ESG activities, from developing sustainability policies to reporting on ESG performance. Company: Alpin Limited is a multidisciplinary sustainable cleantech consultancy based in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi. The local team is composed of diverse qualifications, including CCPs, LCCs, ESG Consultants, and professionals. We also have commissioning authorities and sustainability consultants based in MENA and Europe. Our current projects in the department include the development of ESG strategies, Decarbonization Roadmaps, Net Zero Advisory, and Policy development for public and private sectors. www.alpinme.com
Reports Directly to:
Head of Climate Change & Policy Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research on ESG trends, software, best practices, regulations, and industry benchmarks to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Assist in gathering, organizing, and analyzing ESG-related data, including environmental metrics, social impact indicators, and corporate governance information.
  • Contribute to assessments and studies done for purposes of sustainability reporting (benchmarking, materiality, R&D)
  • Contribute to creating ESG reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting the ESG performance and progress.
  • Participate in the review and management of sustainability implementation in construction projects.
  • Study and assess construction project documents, drawings, and specifications to be aligned with the applicable sustainability standards
  • Contribute to managing schedules, resourcing, tasks, and quality control for projects.
  • Support in quality control and review of reports, trackers, and presentations.
  • Prepare and deliver technical and promotional Presentations.
  • Support the company in its rapid growth plans and sustainability programs.
  • Visit project sites as needed for projects.
  • Maintain the required KPIs and strive for continued personal development.
HSE Roles, Responsibilities, and Accountability:
  • In addition to your responsibility towards following ALPIN\xe2\x80\x99s Integrated Management System, every employee at ALPIN must familiarize themselves with ALPIN\xe2\x80\x99s Environmental Impact Assessment and contribute towards minimizing their individual environmental impact during their work.
  • It is the duty of all employees to act within the legal responsibilities imposed upon them and the Company\xe2\x80\x99s Quality, Environment, and Health & Safety policies. All employees must familiarize themselves with the Company\xe2\x80\x99s Integrated Management System\xe2\x80\x99s policies and procedures.
Skills:
  • Strong interest in sustainability, ESG, and responsible business practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good in developing reports, presentations, and ESG content.
  • Excellent skills in organizing a huge set of data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, software, and data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of the local market, including legislation, competitors, and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with both clients and consultants.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the ESG field.
  • Knowledge of current sustainability frameworks and climate standards: GHG Protocol, GRI, TCFD, SASB, SBTi\xe2\x80\xa6etc.
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in a related discipline (Environmental science, Engineering, or sustainability).
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills are required for our fast-paced environment. Ability to self-manage and work independently.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Relevant Training and Certification in ESG /Sustainability/Climate Change.
  • Highly passionate and motivated to participate in combatting climate change.
  • Hands-on engineering and project management skills.
  • Volunteering experience in sustainability or environmental initiatives.
  • With driving license and own car.
