ER Staff Nurse
Job Summary:
An ER Staff Nurse delivers immediate and specialized care to patients in a fast-paced, high-stress emergency department. The role demands rapid assessment, critical thinking, and proficient intervention for a wide range of conditions from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:

• Triage: Rapidly assess and prioritize patients based on the severity of their condition using a standardized triage system.
• Emergency Care: Provide immediate nursing interventions, including CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), trauma care, and management of medical emergencies.
• Assessment & Monitoring: Perform focused physical assessments, monitor vital signs, and recognize subtle changes in patient condition.
• Medication & IV Therapy: Administer emergency medications, manage IV lines, and assist with procedures like intubation, chest tube insertion, and wound suturing.
• Diagnostic Assistance: Assist physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and collect specimens for lab testing.
• Patient & Family Support: Provide clear communication and emotional support to distressed patients and their families in crisis situations.
• Documentation: Accurately document all care provided, patient history, and condition in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Coordination: Collaborate effectively with paramedics, physicians, specialists, and other healthcare team members.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
• Valid DHA license or eligibility letter.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an Emergency Room or Critical Care setting.
• Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS are typically mandatory.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification is highly desirable.
• Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
