Job Description

MUST BE A US CITIZEN ***OCONUS*** QATAR
As the Equipment Maintenance Technician, you shall have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in commercial kitchen industry maintenance & repair. Shall be able to perform maintenance in the work to be performed which may include one of the following: Electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc. Certifications must be current and valid. The Equipment Maintenance Technician shall provide minor maintenance and assist in major maintenance on equipment to include repair of all Government equipment and replacement of component parts, accessories, attachments, power cords, hood filters, water filters and water faucets.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Performs service, repairs, and maintenance to food services support equipment. Including refrigeration units.
  • Monitor all OCN staff associated with the department and if needed other departments.
  • Ensure personnel requiring escorts are monitored
  • Shall ensure all replacement parts are identified and ordered within 4 calendar days of inoperable equipment
  • Assist in identification of supply requirements and prepare necessary documentation for purchase.
  • Assist in inspections on all smoke detectors and fire extinguishers as required.
  • Arrange for the repair or replacement of equipment and parts which are covered by a warranty.
  • Ensure all documentation and paperwork to repair/replace broken equipment is initiated as required.
  • Maintain a maintenance log of all equipment as required.
  • Respond and provide emergency services to broken equipment as required.
  • Assist in reviewing reports of expenditures for previous fiscal year and proposed improvements to facilities in order to prepare budget estimates for upcoming fiscal year.
  • Monitor tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.
  • Assist in compiling operational records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results.
  • Maintain appliances as required.
  • Initiate and complete equipment repairs as required.
  • Manage and maintain related supplies and equipment.
  • Replace light bulbs and batteries in fire detection equipment within 24 hours of observed or reported failures.
  • Assist with other facilities or departments as needed to ensure mission success
  • Meet and Escort OCN’s from Front Gate to work assignment area at the beginning of shift
  • Escort OCN’s from work assignment area to Front Gate at the end of shift
  • Assist with other Escort duties as needed

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Three (3) years’ experiences in commercial kitchen industry maintenance & repair to include refrigerator, chiller and cold storage units.

LICENSE & CERTIFICATIONS:
  • US Driver’s License
  • Internationally recognized HVAC certification

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
  • Shall be able to connect and disconnect all utility lines to equipment when required and provide maintenance for the utility line connections’ accessories, attachments, and power cords to include hardwire installations.
  • Ability to examine objects, systems, or facilities, and analyze information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs.
  • Ability to determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
  • Familiarity with budget preparation and review
  • Experience creating tool and part inventories and conditions reports
  • Experience with developing, implementing, and evaluating maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair commercial and mobile refrigeration units
