Title:Environmental Engineer
The project is a major infrastructure programme for a mixed-use development aiming to be a global landmark recognized for its unique vision and position as an authentic destination in Riyadh. The community will be a distinct, self-sustaining hub for Riyadh offering several iconic assets. KBR will provide Project Management Consultancy services in project planning, controls, design and engineering management, and implementation of the development and early works packages.
THE ROLE Management of the environmental impacts resulting from construction, in order to minimise short and long term effects on land, air, and water quality, and development and implementation of sustainability initiatives in line with the Project's vision and targets.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement Environment & Sustainability Management Plans, and conduct and lead site auditing. Establish processes to monitor, measure, control and report on Environmental issues against the Project's Environmental Impact Assessment - EIA, and Construction Environmental Management Plans - CEMP. Review and approved Construction Environmental plans of all contractors. Lead and manage regular coordination meetings with all contractors and prepare monthly environmental and sustainability reports. Issue incident reports on environmental and sustainability compliance of construction and develop and manage the implementation of corrective actions. Participate is reviewing and coordinating environment and sustainability related design reports and background studies. Assist and coordinate submission documentation and required applications, NOCs and approvals from the NCEC. Advise on environmental policies and regulatory requirements, while ensuring applicability to projects and implementation on site. Direct liaison with all levels of design, construction and site management, as well as regulatory authorities; also complementary disciplines such as logistics, security, and health and safety. Provision of supervision, direct instruction, mentoring, training, assessment, review, technical input, monitoring, rectification, remediation, infringements, auditing, coordination, approvals, design input, incident reporting on environmental and sustainability compliance of all construction activities involved with the Diriyah Gate II Development.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Bachelor of Science (Env. St.) or similar in related field. 7 years total experience and minimum of 5 years experience in construction site management of environmental issues with GCC experience. Experience in strategic and development control planning and liaison and coordination with regulatory authorities. Experience in carry out site surveys and EIAs, and CEMP implementation and auditing. Production of weekly and monthly reports demonstrating level of compliance of consultants and contractors. Experience in sustainability certification schemes i.e. LEED, Mostadam and SITES.
